The DragonWise Filter Care Method
Our Dragonscale MERV 16 Face Mask Filters are the world's best washable face mask filter. Not only are they great at blocking 0.3 micron particles and liquids, they are extremely unique in that they can be washed and sanitized with no loss to performance, unlike most filters. This brings the daily cost down to under $0.39 per day, while other filters cost 3-5 times that on average since they are only safe to wear once.
We've designed our unique DragonWise Filter Care Method to be as easy as possible and use accessible household materials. By following the steps in our Methods below, you will ensure the filters stay safe and clean, while saving money and getting the most use out of them.
Our method allows the filters to be washed or sanitized up to 8 times before needing to be discarded while maintaining 100% functionality and performance. Make sure to always clean filters after a full day of use before wearing again.
Very important to note - our Filter Care Method should only be used to clean our Dragonscale Face Mask Filters. We do not recommend using this with other filter brands as we can not guarantee the continued performance of other types of filters after washing or sanitizing (most filters are made of unwashable material).
USE ONE fresh filter per day. After use, place dirty filter in a ‘holding area’ such as a paper bag, and isolate this from contact so contaminated filters are not handled. At the end of each week, wash or sanitize used filters. We suggest this so that filters can be washed in one batch to save time. You can also wash or sanitize the face mask filters immediately after use if desired.
Washing: No Rub Method
Recommended to eliminate buildup of contaminants and allergens, oral bacteria, skin cells and oils.
Sanitizing: Stovetop Method
Recommended by the CDC to kill pathogens and viruses.
TO SANITIZE: (On stovetop) Boil water and then turn down to a simmer. Steam the filters in a steaming basket or colander over simmering water, covered for 15 minutes. Do not submerge the filters, they should just be exposed to the steam. Lay flat, pat out excess water & air dry.
Sanitizing: Oven Method
Recommended by the CDC to kill pathogens and viruses.
